On and off through this past fall I have been preparing a place in the upstairs of our dairy barn for a new feed tank , and a TMR mixer. I went and picked the mixer up on Dec 17, and wigeled it into place the next day. If all goes well I can show a few pics of the sight, feed tank mixer ect. Bruce

Looks like it will be a nice setup when you're all done. Friend of mine stores haylage, corn silage and ground ear corn all in agbags. Uses his skidsteer to mix up his TMR on a concrete pad. Not as precise but low cost and seems to work for him.

That is kind of the way I have been doing my silage and haylage mixing for a good many years too. Couldn't afford a proper mixer, but this one came along for $2700.00 so I thought that maybe for a 5 year old mixer, I could take the plunge.

Those front wheels are off the ground on your backhoe, assuming you have a little down pressure on the trailer.

Good eye, had extentions on pallet forks so they wwould go all the way acrossed the mixer. But the backhoe wasn't man enough to do the lift, and is just trying to get free with both of the extentions when the pic was taken. We finaly had to use backhoe on one side , loader tractor on the other. Lifted the mixer up,drove truck out, then set it down on rollers and pushed it in. The door way is 12' wide and the mixer is 13' long , so once on cement floor with rollers out, there was some wiggeling with the backhoe boom to get her in place.

Actually the real reason I noticed, I have been looking for a backhoe, and have looked at a lot of SK, SL, and SM. I was admiring the backhoe instead of the mixer.

My tree planter is very heavy, bulky and not real easy to chain on to. We do the same thing unloading as you do, pulling trailer out from underneath once its up in the air.
