To the people who replied to OT ammo info , thanks Especially dbeatty and Bret4207. I'm looking at a Marlin 1894cl but dont believe its an original , think its made in the "40's or '50's

That Marlin 1894cl is a nice rifle. In your search, let me know if you come across a .32/20 barrel for a model 219 Savage single shot. I have the 22 Hornet,25/20, and 30/30 barrels for mine but would like to add the .32/20. Thanks, Dale

There are Marlin collector sites that may be able to help. IIRC the CL was the recent production run from the 90's. Again, the guys over at cast boolits in the leverguns section are a wealth of information on this stuff.

Glenn the Marlin 1894CL ( 25-20 , 32-20 and 218 bee ) were made from 1988 to 1993 when it was discontined. It was reintroduced in 2005 in the 32-30 cartridge only. Glenn the CL model new in box is around $550.00 to $100.00 in poor condition. If you get it I think you will like it.

Ammuntion companies down load the 32-20 because there are many old rifles and pistols around that might not take a full smokeless powder load. According to literature on the subject, you have to handload to get the full potential out of that cartridge.
