OT- Another Mile Marker

Well, I am proud to say that today I passed another mile marker on the highway of life! 73 down and 27 to go. Of course I'm not gonna quit then, either! LOL The highway isn't always as smooth as we would like, but you just have to make the best of it and hope the shock absorbers hold up. I may have posted this before, but my take on life is this, Birthdays are like mile markers on the highway, you know that eventually they will run out, but you might as well enjoy every mile!

It is my duty to warn you that there is a bridge out down the road on your highway. No use to worry about it, though, because it is also my duty to inform you that you don't have any brakes and dang little steering!

(Of course, if you are like me, you are about out of gas and the old motor is pretty much past the point of an overhaul.)

No wonder folks get so cranky with each other......You all been forgettin your geritol

Happy Birthday!!!

Aside from health issues taking a toll, I think old age is a frame of mind..... When I was a kid, it didn't seem like folks got past 60 or so.... now I see my wife's grandma (my "MIL") at 87 and shovelling snow & taking care of a yard that 10 other families used to share (she and an old crippled guy are the last living in an apartment building that will go as soon as they do) eighbor lady is 95 and still rides a bike to the edge of town to tend the family garden and drives the tractor at hay time and potatoe planting & harvest.... Hope I can do a third of that at 60....

Happy Birthday! An old friend of mine just turned 81, and looks (and acts) about 65. He says growing older is just a question of mind over matter- If you don't mind, it don't matter.
