Just went to a land auction in billonthefarm and I's area in Farmington IL. 115 acres 108 tillable sold for 10,300 per acre to a farmer who has bought a lot of ground over the years in the area.

That's stupid money for land. Wish i had some of it to sell though. LOL I don't see how you can make it buying land around here in southern mid. Tennessee for 4-6k/ acre.

Wrigley didn't buy it did he?

He sometimes has a sly look in his eyes like he may have a "pile" stashed somewhere.

Aint that something. Everyone had been asking me "how much will it bring?" Its just over a mile from my house, and we farm right next to it. I had been giving a very confident guess, somewhere between 6 and 12K. Looks like I got it right! Sure is hard to get a feel for what is going on with the land market and where we are going. I didnt get away to go watch but that is the highest price farm to sell around here so far!
