Today I got to spend a nice time with my daughter who is 19 and home on break from college. I dug up some horseradish roots from the garden, and we peeled them and ground them up in the food processor along with a little salt and some white vinegar, and then put it in jars. I dont know if tears were in my eyes from the horseradish or was it from the fact that it was so nice to spend special time with her this week, It seems like yesterday that I was picking her up from daycare at night on my way home from work, amd now she is 19, As she grew up,I was working a lot,and taking care of my sick mom,so I missed a lot of close times with her.

Glad you got to spend some quality time with her, Larry. They sure do grow up in a hurry. My youngest turned 39 last Sept. It's hard to believe. Where does the time go?

BE PROUD, you have a wounderful daughter that wanted to spend time with you./// instead of them coming home and saying hi dad, be back soon, going over to ______ house. never had kids of my own, raised nieces and nephews, some call, some don't even know phone # or house #...

Good for you and your daughter, you will never regret time shared with her,no matter how trival the things are you do together. My oldest is 23, came home from college almost every weekend. Graduated past May and then went to NY (boy involved) and now has job there, sure miss being able to see her very often, maybe she will miss home enough to move back or closer but I doubt it. Buffalo NY has as much population in it and surrounding area as our whole little state. Make memories as time permits, Mark

Sounds like you and your daughter had a good visit.

Hug her every chance you get and tell her that you love her.

Don't worry about shedding tears for her; tell her that you're just glad to see her.

Yes it is valuable time and make the best of it while you can.
