Just wondering... We haven't had winter yet other than a couple of days that the temp hit about 25 overnight... Anyway, everything is starting to turn it's shades of green as far as fields and pastures. Winter wheat and barley is really green and starting to grow... What happens when we do get winter? Is the stuff going to be shot, or will it just keep on growing.....?

Dave2 ,

It will probably be a little of both . The stuff thats budding early before their supposed to will probably be hurt and stuff like winter wheat that grows in winter will probably be all right ,maybe stunted a little , though , hence the name winter wheat. We had a deal like that a couple of winters ago here in South Central Kentucky . Warmed up above seasonable temps for a while , things started budding out early and then we had a bad cold snap , most stuff survived and came back good after a couple of years ,and some died , but those that survived was stunted good that year .
