looks good. how did you dig it out under the house? did you consider a treated lumber basement at all? will your basement walls line up with walls above so as to be actually load bearing? Rocko.

Looks to me with he installed all the temporary lally columns and steel beams as shoring and will either block to the sill or set the house back down on the walls.I wouldn't do a wood foundation even though they allow it by law.
That is a very involved process but looks really good.

I'm worn out just looking at this.

Nice work!

Makes me feel like my around the house projects are pretty lame.

Nothing like a warm jobsite in the winter!
Looks like 4' centers on rebar. Are you grouting solid walls? Being that it's 8' or so below grade, spend a little more and add some steel to 2' centers. What about a bond beam ? (horizontal)
I only offer these comments, as I have 40 some years in the Masonry business. Seen too many walls fall or buckle.
Good lookin straight blockwork, nice job.

not a big fan of the treated lumder method myself either. would be considerably less labour intensive by the looks of it though. rocko.

Wow ,,so many shovels ago ,,,I think it's been 2 years now. Just me or couple buddies helping after work and weekends .

Hi Bob. thanks for the input . I am like a sponge when it comes to info out of my field . Yes ,walls will be gouted . I did the footings myself, leaving the block work to the blocklayers, I'm just grunt labor for this step, lol.

I dug in stages . Thirty foot or so . I beam under joits, jack posts supporting it. Tear out old footing, dig to grade. Pour new footing . Yes ,sill will set right on block .

Thanks Larry ,,,hard work keeping up with these blocklayers,,, specially after work and the cold ones start flowing ,lol

Getting there, good winter to get work done this year, won't be long, whaddya gonna do once its done, probably been taking up a lot of your time for the past 2 years. How are you placing the grout, that's some real bull work to fill those cells by hand. Best done a few courses at a time so you don't blow out the wall. I'm surprised they did not use any ladder/truss mesh every other course or so.

I did a building once, high strength CMU, 4 stories specified to be fully grouted on the structural dwg's, the boys tried to slip one in on me, climbed up on that scaffold with a mag light, grout inspection, no grout, looks like you will work Sat & Sun, as I have the next floor being set (concrete plank) Tues. no changing that deadline, they'd have left it too, darned building could have collapsed once to height.

great job. got a neighbour doing same thing. he went with treated lumber on cement footing. think hes going on about 6 years now on his project. hoading in every winter. trouble in spring and summer with rain and flooding. what been your time frame?? rocko.

I've been following your project all along Brian.
Good update, good work.
I added an addition on to the back end of this little crackerbox 4 years ago. Rented a mini excavator to dig the hole, poured the footings, layed up the block, then went on up 2 stories with the building. I hired some help with the framing but did about 90% of the addition alone.
I'm not real fond of the block work but it sure is a good way work off a bit of a belly.
Photo is just after I got the ok to back fill.

Parents did one wall of their house as treated foundation. Works great, but you need the old type of treatment good for soil contact.

you saying you actually did that by hand shovel. if so, dang let me know what vitamins your taking. rocko.

lol,,,well the first section . We have a conveyor set up ,had to shovel it onto it. Then once we got enough room to work I got my lil Mustang 310 skidloader down there. Way better !!! but still lot of shovel time .
