Filled it completely to the brim with fuel and was gonna fill up again at 10 hours and get an idea of use... Kept forgetting and just filled this morning at 12 hours and took 5 gallons to put it back at the top..... my little tractor was taking about 7 gallon for 10 hours and 18 less HP /1500 pounds lighter.... Diesel

done now.....

Your neighbor is probably adding a little bit each day. When he quits, you will run out of fuel and be the talk of the nieghborhood.

That'd be a good joke... gotta keep it in mind

It's not working as hard as the little one was....
My 4600 Ford (52 h.p.) burns about 2 gallons per
hour pulling a 9' mow-co in 5th gear...3/4 gallon
per hour raking hay

(quoted from post at 07:50:32 01/05/12) Doing the same tasks? Seems strange.

same stuff... May be different when mowing and baling but I'm happy.....

Welcome to the world of diesels. When International introduced the diesels they always reported better consumption for the diesel models when loaded. It was part of their advertising to compensate for the extra cost. For light to moderate work they really shine.
