kudos to a young mom

Too bad she only killed one of them. On the phone with 911 for 21 minutes, I didn't think Oklahoma had areas that were that remote.

It's a shame they can't charge the other scumbag with his partner's death. I would like to have been there to see how fast he ran off!

When seconds count the police are minutes away.

A man looked out in his back yard and saw a burgler breaking into his garage. His wife called the police and they said they would be out in an hour as they were busy with other calls. The wife then shouted into the phone that her husband had just shot the burgler. Minutes later the yard was filled with police cars and the burgler was taken into custody. One of the cops shouted "I thought you said you shot him?", the owner called back "I thought you sid you were too busy."

Good GIRL!

It's kinda like that here. 2 deputies on duty at night so I can be a wait till they get here!

1 mile straight south of my house across a pasture, wish there had been seven or eight more for her to get...doesnt hurt at all for those young ladies to know how to shoot!Proud to call her my neighbor!

Actually the second man is charged with second degree murder because he was an accessory to a felony when a fatality occurred

Glenster, Thank you for posting that artical . We saw it on the local news and what they said was not a complete artical like you posted .
About the same thing happened a few miles from us several yrs ago. The gun is loaded now at all times . clint

exactly three miles from downtown blanchard, but outside city limits so county folks had to come from 30 miles away.Remember all those old westerns you saw where the town marshal says its out of his jurisdiction? Still alive and well here and just a fact of life .Her house was on the wrong side of the road for town cops.Believe it or not town cops were setting a mile away waiting on a call for assistance from county. Welcome to small town okla! You should see them argue when theres a grass fire!sat and talked to the firefighters from one town ,while we sat accross the road and watched a house burn. Other town was busy and didnt request assistance.God forbid you get a new dispatcher,no one goes anywhere!got 911 last year i think it was,you call in they find your house on a map decide whitch one of the five towns your in and then call them herself and relays your messages.trouble is right square in the middle of it all is an area of a few square miles thats sort of no mans land.county takes care of us on law enforcement but we have our own volunteer fire dept.forget calling a ambulance one will come out after they all call each other and decide whos got jurisdiction.Im two miles from a ambulance but i have to get one from thirty miles away!mclain county and grady county splits the town right half in two,one side of the street you get one service ,another on the other side.quite frankly its probably best she handled the problem herself ,because the cops are probably still arguing.

In Canada ,England and in the urban abundant states. The girl would be charged with at least 2nd degree and the criminals encouraged to sue.

That is disgusting.
The people of Canada need to revolt.

So if an armed thug is in your home ready to kill you.......With a knife, you cant shoot back, or stab him first?
Explain your answer in detail please.

All of mine that are within reach are loaded at all times. Having an empty gun in the house is the same as having an empty fire extinguisher in the kitchen.

Man am I ever glad I don't live in a place like that. Here in Clark county wi, Everybody's responsibility is maped out. county law officers handle everything outside of the city limits. Citys handle their own. BUT most all city officers have deputy badges and will roll if they are closer under whats called "mutual aid". Our fire protection district has no ambulance, but a 911 call sends the nearby one AND the fire dept's first responders. 5:00am christmas morning, a neighbor lady had a hip dislocate. 5:15 am their yard and road was so full of lights, I thought it was a fire. If a fire dept gets a call of a barn or other large structure fire. they automaticaly roll at least one other fire dept ae a matter of routine. One time I put a little to much gas on a brushpile I was going to burn and a neighbor with a big imigination called in a "huge explosion and fire, most likley a plane crash". Had 4 fire depts and 3 ambulances, 6 squads at my place in 20 min, WITH MORE ON THE WAY!!. Last year a neighbor was blowing straw into a barn and a stray stone fragment hit a light bulb and started a fire. the first fire dept had the fire out before the second one finnished putting on their turnout gear. I may have complaints about how somethings are handled in this county, but bickering about whos' responsibility a call is is not one of them.

Strange case. Her recently deceased husband was age 58 while she is just 18 with a 3 month old baby. Add 9 months to that and she would have been not more than 17 when the child was conceived. In my State, that is big trouble for the adult man involved. I really wonder about the crowd that all of them ran with. But I am glad that she was able to get off one good shot.

Here are two sources. If you search, you will find the obituary. I made sure of my information prior to posting. Two links.

Heck just a few short years ago in Mn you had the retreat law, you had to retreat if possible. Then if you did use deadly force you had to be able to prove that the perp was intent on doing you "grievous bodily harm". About 15 miles from me a mother shot and killed her ex who was holding their 12 yo kid with a knife to the kids throat. She got 2 years because she could have gone out the back door and called for help. Now things have changed and we are waiting to see if our governor is going to sign the castle law or not.

Old Tanker pretty well summed it up.

The cops and the courts here go absolutely wild and self protective of them selves. And make an example of any civilian that does their job better than they do.
The first words heard from the law community is some out of context reference to vigilantly law and how it must be squashed.
Officially you are supposed to dial 911 and die politely.
Last year the case went to court where the cops stood outside an apartment door for several minutes. While some perv*rt r*ped and choked a women to de*th.While the police dispatch listed on the women's cell phone. A few years for the perv*rt and law figured it all a job well done.

The law busted a Toronto Grocer who only caught and held a known thief for the cops to arrest.
Cost the poor smucks time in the can, stress and huge legal fees.

If I was not already married and was forty years younger I would be courting that young lady. She has more grit than most of the women today. She protected herself and her baby. THAT is one heck of a woman and mother.

It also is a real shame that someone has not raised he!! with the powers that be to get the jurisdiction issues worked out.
