Ford 640 hydraulic system

I just purchased an old 1955 Ford 640 without a hydraulic pump. Tractor was outside so I am sure the reservior has water in it. I want to change the oil before installing a pump. Is there any flushing I might need to do to the hydraulic system or just drain old oil and fill with new oil?

drain the sump and see if there is water in it. if so dump in some alcohol and diesel, and then drain again..

go ahead and splurge for an oring kit.. say.. 15$ or so..

Does the alcohol and diesel need to be circulated through the system or just fill and dump?

Thanks For the info

if you have no pump on, hard to circulate.. :)

besides. again.. with no pump on, no hyd fluid with water made it to the top cover. only place water would / could be is in the sump...

I have purchased a used pump and we are getting ready to install it, that is why I was wondering about the water. I will drain sump, fill with diesel & alcohol drain and add new fluid. Thanks for reply.
