Anybody have any experience with the 110,150 and
250cc two seater go-karts with suspension
currently on the market? Gio, Carbide and Manco
are some names seen.
They are either an aircooled Briggs or Honda
clones with a variable belt drive. Or an oil
cooled motorcycle type engine with a
forward/reverse gearbox and variable belt drive.
There is only six weeks of snowmobiling around
here. Plus the teen boys can do donuts and power
slides in the field. Instead of ripping around
with my vehicles.
I had thought of a salvage yard car or truck
field bomber to tear around with. However storage
room and deep ruts are a concern. Also if they get
a truck or car stuck in the creek they are heavier
to fish out.

yeah,i've had a few of the chinese karts come thru shop...engines and chassis pretty good stuff but lil nit pickin stuff like shift cables and electrical are made of unobtainium...i wound up building linkages and rewiring the ones that came in...refused to do any more work on em since.

You can buy plans for em on line. Why don't you consider a father & sons project and go for it. That way you can get the controls and so on where you know you can find replacements and do the wiring yourself.

I have a manco with a 6 1/2 hp subaru. Starts very easy. Goes through 3 inches of snow just fine. Has a live axle so you can't turn real fast. Has a roll cage and seat belts. Had to replace the belt once, around $15. I wouldn't have anything but a 2 seater. My rule is an adult must be riding with a kid.

I have one in the shed now.No reverse, no
suspension and will require major re-work of the
front axle again. Not putting any more $$$ into it.

My manco doesn't have a reverse, but it does have 4 shocks and 4 springs, one for each wheel. Are you sure you have a manco?

Looking at these. They used to carry 150cc and 250cc karts too until last week.
