Allis-Chalmers WC value

We got a WC Allis-Chalmers unstyled. It was my Great-Grandpas, I was wondering what its worth we got the engine unstuck and nothing is cracked (block and head). We got the block and head cleaned and one rear tire can hold air the others are BAD. How much should a guy put into it for whatever its worth?????
Thanks,
Chad

Wouldn't go running them down too much. They are worth about as much as any other color of their time. The WC isn't worth as much as a WD because they don't have hyd or any provision for live PTO. Not running with bad tires isn't a good combination. Are the rims/sheet metal good? If it has sentimental value then it's worth more. The way you describe maybe $400 or so since scrap is high. The engine might be cheap to get going again and you can stumble into some used rear tires from time to time. Like any other antique tractor a full "restoration" will never return what you put in.

Great Grandpa's tractor is/will be "priceless" to you. Make him "proud" of the work/workmanship you put into the project and make him "proud" of not being wasteful of your money.

Have fun!!

Chad, just junk it family memories mean nothing. Probably no pictures around of great-granddad and his pride of a new tractor on the farm. SARCASM intended. Everyone is always more concerned about a price than what it meant to someone in the family.

Get that"whats it worth"attitude out of your head and fix it for grandpa! You wont be selling it.Do it because of your love for grandpa, the joy of a "job well done"Antique tractors are seldom to never money makers. We do them because we want to.

I have my grand fathers 1935 JD-B and I have had 5 generations of my family on it as of this summer and for me to sell it I will not take less then $100,000 for it. Why is it worth that much heck no but it was my moms dads tractor and as long as I live it will be here on this farm and I hope my son and or Daughter think the same way

A scrap yard near me has one somebody drove in.They said they would take 300 cash for it.

After you get it fixed up to keep only then think of a value to put on it for insurance purposes. Wish I still had both grandparents tractor and Dads and what I had. Only have the one now that Dad bought new in may of 1944 and as long as I am around it will stay.

If your intention is to sell it, you will make the most profit by getting it to run and nothing else. IF the tractor was in very good condition with very good tires, it would be worth approximately $2,500 tops, but it will cost WAY more than that to get your tractor in that condition.

$2500 for a WC???? Where??? I don't think so. WD and WD45 tractors are going for $$800 to $1000 here in western, pa. Once you restore it all you can do is look at it. You can't do anything but drag stuff.

WDs and WD-45s are plentiful enough (kind of like a Farmall H) that they really don't sell very high. An unstyled WC is a little harder to find.
