An acquaintance of mine is looking for a 3 pt hitch and PTO gear reduction attachment for his 1973 Lo-Boy 154. Apparently the gear reduction is required to run standard 540 equipment on this tractor. What would be the approximate price range and availability of these items be?

I checked the classified listings but didn't find any of either accessory.

Thank you,

Anthony

I once had the misfortune(stupidity) to own one of these tractors. The power shaft is a 15/16" left hand,(CCW) rotation and nothing but the factory implements would fit it. Not only will you need to reduce the speed, but you will have to reverse the direction of rotation.

Hub City made the gear box. Also made a similar unit for Kubota. You may find a listing in an old Hub City Catalog but it has been out of production for years.

Seems like they could use their old tooling and run off an order of 1000 and sell them all at a profit in short order. Or any foreign or domestic enterprise or individual could do the same.

What 504 said, cheaper to buy another tractor, plus, I cant think of very many implements that the tractor has the power to run that are available new. Last 3point I saw sold on ebay for 1200.
