Csn anyone tell me an easy way to remove old decals from tractor sheet metal, Have tryed a single edge razer blade didn 't work well

If they are real decals as opposed to cut vinyl sheet they are not likely to peel off from my experience. They pretty much bond to the paint in the years of sun.

get what is called a decal remover, looks just like a big pencil eraser and goes on your drill or die grinder. it just rubs it off works slick from when i used it anyway. any auto store should have them. took the decals off the side of my truck last summer and work slick after you learn with it,ya need to rub into the decals, not from ontop.

(quoted from post at 09:42:01 12/30/11) have you tried a hot air gun/blow dryer??? Maybe from the back side??

That would be my recommendation also. If the decals have been in place for many years, nothing short of destroying both the decal and the paint underneath is going to work.

Liberate mom's hairdryer and use it on high, long enough to loosen the adhesive holfing the decal on. Work slowly along the length pulling the decal up as it loosens from the metal--

A spray can of "Permatex" gasket remover will
take them off, but probably some paint too,and
protect your hands and eyes!
