What is it worth??

‘73 Chevrolet 90 road tractor, 318 diesel engine, 8-speed transmission, cab lights, ps, power brakes, am-fm radio, West Coast mirrors, 10.00-20 front & rear tires, 100 gallon fuel capacity, sliding 5th wheel, tandem axle, 180” wheel base, wet line, brake Jake, air ride seat, 138,261 actual miles. No rust.

$3-5,000 depends how bad you want it and what plans you have for it. How much will it cost to get it DOT'd?????????

My guess is....not much. That is really low mileage, but it is my guess that Detroit's 318 two stroke is the reason for 13 speeds in the first place. Their power band is NARROW, more of a power string. The eight speed would be huge jumps for that engine. It sounds like this truck is set up to use as a dump truck since it has a wet kit. I saw a truck close to this description but with more miles although it did have a thirteen speed and twenty years ago it was $5000.

Perhaps to a collector. I know a place that has a couple of Astro 95's that are sleeper as opposed to day cabs that have been setting for some time along with an International Transtar. Titan 90 though, even more rare but don't know if are worth much. I saw a day cab going for $1,800 a while back, but needed a whole lot of work. Don't know whatever happened to it. Know of a place that has about 8 Crackerboxes that seems to gain one or so each year. Just setting in a field on the west side of I-94 just south of the Michigan border into Indiana. Kind of like a Stonehedge of green Crackerboxes. Always wondered if would be enough parts to put one good one together.

Anyway, good luck. Put a flatbed on it and use it. If I knew how to post a picture, I have one of a Crackerbox that someone did that to. Pretty nice.

It"s only worth junk price. It will cost more to keep it on the road than it is worth. With all the EPA crap is where the cost is. You better have an unending supply of oil dry those things are like a sieve for leaking.
