Removing Scratches On Window Pane

Hi ,

My sister and her family are moving into her late FIL's house this week . There was new windows put in in the last little bit and where they removed the sticker on one window there is some of the glue left and scratches on the window . The main problem is the scratches . There is a spot about the size of a baseball .They don't appear to be very deep. I know that they have the expoxy stuff for windshields to make cracks disappear so my question is : Is there anything that I can get / do to make the scratches disappear or at least look better ? Some lite sanding ? What is a good way to make the glue come off without scratching the window more ? Thanks for any and all help.

P. S. Happy late Christmas and have a Happy and Safe New Year

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New year to you too. I have never tried it but I have heard you use jewlers rouge. I would go to a local windshield repair shop - I bet they sell something that would work.

Some sort of solvent, on a rag, maybe even
"Mineral Spirts" will take it off. Also a
product called "Goo Gone", Usually those labels
have a waxey adhesive, and peel off, and an
Ammonia type glass cleaner will poilsh them up.

For the stickiness, you can use goo gone or wd40. Works great for me. Scratches, well I don't have the foggiest idea.

Make sure that the glass is really scratched. It maybe just the glue that is still there. If it is really scratched then a good auto polish will work on polishing the scratches out. It is a slow process but it will work. I have don't it on windshields that the wiper arm scratched. You can use a power buffer but be careful or you will get a swirl pattern in the glass.
