Song Christmass Shoes

Very heart warming.
Made me think back awhile I was in my 40's or so Ordering up some meat and cheese from the deli, this older man guessing in his early 60's . he didn't even look like the many bums that had frequented the store,but he ask me please could he have a couple slices of the meat I was ordering because he hadn't eaten in two days. He looked so sincere I said I'll do ya one better. I bought him a drink of his choice mountain dew and a large hoagie
He grabbed the bag and out the door he went, just then he caught himself .. he came back in with tears in his eyes, and couldn't thank me enough. he never thought a kid (in his eyes) could be so kind. I was brought up that way. Probably that is why I have nothing, but I came into this world with nothing on my back, but I'll be going out with a shirt on my back. God has provided me with enough in between.
 
Old Roy that is the feelings I got from this song. We all have had opportunities to help ones less fortunate than us. I think that it is that type of giving has the most meaning. Just donating to some big charity is fine but is not really what God wants us to do. I think he wants us to be directly involved in helping our fellow man out.

When I was stationed over seas I had 90% of my pay sent straight home. My family needed it. I would do odd jobs for fellow soldiers on base, I cleaned many a gun for a buck each, and other things like that. I often used this money to buy food or treats for the people I would see when on patrol. Really the kids mostly.

The people here in the US have not seen how poor many people are in the rest of the world. It made my heart grow each time a little one would run off with some treat. Able to forget their problems for a short while.
