I have a 1971 gmc 5500 grain truck with a 305 V6 engine. It has a stromberg 2 barrel model WW carb number 23-241.I need the two idle tubes,or possibly another carb, don't know what will work. Thanks.

I know a guy down here that has about twenty acres of cars and trucks scattered all over it. I can check and see what he has. I know in one pile there is nothing but old carbs.

I think I would price a brand new 2 bbl Holley. I'm thinkin' that ol' Stromberg is probably worn out in places that you never even thought about.

I have a 1965 GMC truck out back with the V-6 in it and I think it still has a carb on it that I would sell pretty cheap. E-mail is open if you want more info on it

The truck only has 39000 miles,a neighbor bought it new.It has a 14ft midwest bed.The guy that was rebuilding the carb lost one of the idle tubes.I think they only used that carb for two years. The parts places say it's to old to be in there books.

There is an outfit somewhere that bought up all the remaining parts inventory when Stromberg closed up. Several years ago (maybe 30) we needed new throttle shaft bearings for a 2 barrel Stromberg on a 401 V6, and we had to order from them, No parts houses anywhere had them. Couldn't even get them from the GMC truck dealer that sold the truck new.

An internet search for Stromberg carburetor might turn something up.

No I haven t any interest in the shop , found this on the forum sometime ago & kept the info to try to help other people find what they need.

I talked to them, not very friendly, said they would check when they found the time. They said they wouldn't sell me the parts unless i bought a 60 dollar repair kit. They wanted 65 bucks for the two little tubes if they had them.

I was kinda thinkin' like rustyfarmall, There should be some other make carb. that will fit. If the bolt pattern matches, the linkage can be made to work. Good luck.
