Wooden Wagon Gear - pics

Is there any value here? I was going to burn it but someone should take it home. Kind of a neat note of history with the cut down wheels and 14 inch rims mounted. The hitch folded under and broke when I moved it but all the hardware is there. The pole is adjustable to lengthen the wheel base. Most of the wood is good enough for patterns but I'm guessing won't last too long after removing the flare box and being exposed to the weather. Any interest? Comments?

Where is it located? It would make a great yard art or something to put in the kid pen for them to play on, but, I wouldn't travel to far or pay to much for it. It is something that if goat kids are seen playing on would look cool. I don't think it would bring much money as a collectiable, but perhaps it has hardware that might be worth something to someone rebuilding theirs.

Hey Bob, NE S.Dak. I'm sure there must be some wagon collectors out there but don't know who they are. Don't travel in the same circles I guess. I might have to talk to....groan....horse people. Wink.

Yes it is. I looked it over a bit today as I was working nearby. Sure brings back a rush of memories. Good and bad. Harvested a few acres and relived a few incidents in my mind as I walked around the old girl. Sad to see it in such bad shape today but can't change that.

Funny you should mention "traveling in circles" and wagons in the same sentence... As if you're circling the wagon... Had to point out the cheap pun there!

was hoping it was the same,, and I am in the same boat I have my 1000 that sits out side to the first machine I ran by myself at a very young age and when I go by it my thoughts wander back also,, was thinking how about a few more shots of it and a story or to about harvest with it??? what do you think?? thanks cnt tom

I read in an antique auto magazine that spokes
are available, made by inmates in some prison!
"Hemmings Motor News" may list sources!

Heh heh, good one! Reminds me of the old George Carlin(I think) bit that went: "The ferris wheel operator and the merry-go-round operator knew each other, but weren't close friends since they traveled in different circles."

My circles love those things, but, other than making a pattern, as you mention, the wood is in need of complete replacement. We don't pay much for these, as they sit in the wood everywhere, But at issue with rebuilding it for profit is the wood. The pics could be misleading, but they appear to be mostly wood, which means that upon completion you would have a nice, new trailer, with antique hardware. That wouldn't sell as vintage/antique in my circles. You could probably sell the hardware seperately, in my opinion, however.

That would be a neat piece to look at. I also live in N.E. South Dakota. E-mail is open, let me know where you are. Thanks
