no/t tires on childs wagom

We bought our grandson a 36 inch wagon from the John Deere dealer and the tirss hav a strong odor of rubber. Is their anything that will help reduce the stronmg odor? Thanks Amo.
 
its them chinese tires...not sure if its the chemicals in them or something sprayed on for customs...only thing that gets rid of it is time...out in the garage is a good place to let it set awhile.
 
I worked at a deere dealer in high school in parts and used to have to put some of these toys together. We would start putting them together about a month before we would started setting them out in the show room. We left tehm on a shelf in the parts room for this very reason. It helped some but they still smelled when they left before christmas still. Time really is the best thing for them.
 
Bought a cheap, brand new pair of boots once, to keep in the truck as a spare pair...The rubber soles stunk so bad, I threw 'em in the garbage after two days. Not much you can do about it, except wait it out...
 
Try bathroom Potporri spray on them...no kidding, you might be surprised. Cheap enough to try. I used it on my two little girl's first Stingray bicycles when I unboxed them and put them by the Christmas tree....those tires, don't think they were Chinese back then, 1970-1971, stunk pretty bad, but anyhow it worked...long enough. Of course, the bikes went outside Christmas day and never ever came back in the house.
 
My wife rolled up a rug that went under the dining room table and put it in a spare bedroom. Man that thing stinks to high heaven. Has a rubber type backing. Phew!!!

I don't understand why people get so worked up. It's the smell of fresh synthetic rubber, not rotting flesh or the dog's milk farts.
