Is there a website a person can research what actual sale prices for new trucks should be, rather than suggested retail and dealer initial pricing. Guess I am buying one and thought a quite a while back that I read there was one out there that can give you a little more leverage on dealing. Also, looking for info where I can find out what manufacturer rebates are so I KNOW, as alot of dealers dont like to disclose that so they receive the rebate. I want the rebates and the 0% if I can manage to negotiate it. Will be dealing on Ram 2500 crew with the 5.7 or 2500HD GMC or Chevy. FIL say get the GMC. Year end should be a good time dont to get them down wouldnt you think?

Try truecar.com. Price of invoice, sticker price and what is actually paid.
Will also give you quotes from local dealers if you want them. It seems to be right on the money.

Go to KBB.com and see what new car prices are....This might not help much but its a start.

Your best bet is to go around to 3 or more dealers and haggle and deal. The margins on new cars/trucks for dealers is less than what it used to be, It is too bad you dont have a good friend or relative that is a x-ler or GM employee.

the price u wanna know is how much the dealer has in the car at the end. local bigger GM dealers must have a quotta break on dec 31. they are usually struggling to drag that number up as much as possible.
our local giant dealer can blow everyone outta the water, selling under cost. dealer service when he's 100mi away is kinda bad. sells all the trade-in straight thru the dealer auction that i attend.

Bought a new truck four years ago. Looked at three big ones on line, and decided on Chevy-GMC. 3/4, Duramax- Allison. Priced build out on Chevy website, with options I was interested in. Went thru Chevy dealers in 100 mile radius to look at inventory. THEN- I went to edmunds.com, and got the high-low-average sale amounts. That gave me an idea of what these guys were gonna ask. Here's where the fun came in. I typed in four of the local dealers. I got emails from two in just a few hours. Then I got a call from one. One of the emails was from an old school friend. The phone call was from a dealer in Aberdeen, fairly local. Sales girl happened to be the owners daughter. She had a truck I'd looked at, and faxed the window sticker. She also worked up a bottom line price and sent it over. I went back into the web, and found out the truck was at a dealer's place in Delaware. I called the old school buddy, and he sent me a price on the same truck from his dealer. Just for fun, I called the other two dealers, and asked them for a quote. One tried to sell me another truck with more bells and whistles, and the other one tried to talk me into a gas job because they had it in stock. Old bud's price was $1500 more than the original price I got in Aberdeen, and I told him it was. He went back to his bosses, and talked to them, and they told him that was as low as he could go. He told me that the original bid I had was bogus, and had to be come-on. It wasn't. Bottom line- I got a $43k truck for something less than $29k. Dealer was great. Owner was in the showroom every day. Big smile on his face, old southern boy. Truck was delivered the next day, on a handshake because I had to get the money out of a stock account. He got the check for the truck about a week later. But, I never left the house, and had these big dealers and salesmen falling over themselves to sell me a truck at the lowest price I was going to get. Neighbor tried the same stunt, and went with the bells and whistles dealer, but wound up with an '06 leftover for about the same price, but didn't realize it until he picked it up. Price actually fell in a couple of hundred below edmund's low price. So use the internet some, and you may have some laughs at the expense of a car salesman, and get a pretty good deal on top of it.
