my daughter ,my wife ,and I planted seedlings around the yard here in nj,in hopes that we oould cut our own Christmas tree some day. Three years ago there was one big enough to use ,but they did not want to kill the tree,so we dug it up and after Christmas replanted it outside,We have done it every year for three years, and all three survived, This is the one my daughter wants this year, they are getting big for her old man to lift.but I got it into the house! I have it in ia masons mortar tub so we can keep it watered. The last picture is to dark in the living room, Got to get the decorations and lights on it now

Nice tree Larry! We can make a landscaper outta u yet. I'm surprised the tree dosent come out of dormancy while in the warm house? Then die when it goes back into the cold. Nice job.

we take it back out and plant it shortly after the holidays,it work so far let you know how this one does,We dig a different one each year so far, We wish you ,your wife, and the baby a Merry Christmas,,Larry and Family

Bringing in your own tree reminds me of the first Christmas we were married. I cut and brought one in. Noticed there was a cacoon on a branch but didn't think anything of it. After being warm for a while miniature praying mantis' POURED out of the cacoon and we had them all over the place!

Funny thing Larry, the one son at the horse farm thinks he's mr nature, so he would make his mom spend 75 bucks or more for a balled and burlapped live tree, because he dident like killing one by getting a cut tree? Every year he'd put it outside after Christmas and it would always die anyway! Lol go figure out that thinking!

I think it was 5 or 6 years., we have smaller ones growing, but she really liked this one so I dug it up, She is 19, but I still think of her as my little girl, and when she said she liked that one I got the strenghth to lift it somehow!

Looks like a Norway spruce. They grow pretty fast and having them in those woodchips supercharges the growth process.
