Ford tractor magneto whole or parts needed

I have a FORD tractor that has given good servce. It has a magneto for the ignition spark system. However, the mag,s fiber gear has wore down & needs to be replaced. If you have a Ford Mag or parts for one call 701 248 3494 or by email. Thanks much Ted

Might help if you tell us what model of Ford you are talking about.
I don't know of any fords that used a magneto except a few of the wartime 2Ns

When looking for magneto parts, you look for
magneto make and model number, from the name
tag, tractor make is seldom important.
Once you know magneto make and model. Y/T, at
this forum has lots of magneto parts,go to tractor parts, in upper left corner, then get
in to "electrical".
Lots of antique tractor magazines have ads for
magneto repairs or parts, but the first thing
they'ask you is magneto make and model!

Yes it is a 2N .Actually it is a 9N.

The mag was never used on the 9N as the mag came out on the tractor as a war item and the 2N was the war tractor, started in 1942, and came at the start with no generator, battery or starter. The serial number for the 2N starts with the 9 same as the 9N. The mag was used befor that on industrial engines and could have been changed over if they had distributor problems or could not get a battery during 1942 or 1943. Otherwise I think you are looking at a 2N and thinking it is a 9N.
