I don't know about anyone else but iv had about enough of this years weather! Rain all summer, now
December 15th u think we would be froze up? No we had more rain today and the mud is awful, were at 48 degrees right now! Vegetable garden was a bust, hay was a joke, the only thing I caught up on was making firewood! Now I haven't burnt hardly any because it's been so warm. Oh well I can't seem to find a balance with this crazy weather pattern! Lol, try again next year.

we had a cold wet spring,a normal June,a real hot dry drought july,a flooding august The garden was a washout, The neighbor farmer did ok with fall 2nd cutting

Would you prefer frostbite? Sorry that winter isn't harsh enough for you. May your new year be blessed with Blizzards and pestilence followed by a severe summer draught. Could you find happiness in a draught that doesn't have a 130 degree heatwave? Are you one of those folks who complain when their ice cream is cold?

The front that's going through here will probably be over your way tomorrow,so I think you can forget the 48 degrees.
But yea,we were froze up in good shape, had the ruts leveled off pretty good, then it rained all day yesterday and over night, off and on today and I've got a rutted muddy mess again. Gonna be bad when it freezes up again. Wanna bet what we'll be complaining about in a few weeks though?

Right now I'd rather have 20 degrees to freez up the mud from all the rain, and I'd rather be pushing snow. Must be you don't work outside for a living! Or you'd be sick of it too!

looks like april around here....... but I's got's new tires............ Would like to see it freeze a couple inches then stay about 30 degrees til the grass starts to grow again.....

Lot warmer than last year at this time, was a cold wet spring, (but we actually had an actual spring, instead of going straight to summer like we did in '10. Then all the rain later in the late summer/September, this November was a fair weather one, make up weather they gave us for the wash out, it dried enough that I could moldboard plow at the end of November, even made it halfway through a wet area, that would otherwise be off limits. I made good use of the sunny/dry spells though, had some time off cut up enough wood to dry down by the stove, cleaned out my yard. I've still got a pile of logs at the end of my driveway to deal with, probably buck those and dry inside, even the oak, been cut since '09 dries nicely, will have to cheat and bring in some black cherry, dries in days.

Sure helped me get some things done, while having some time off. Way too warm to hang deer though, had to hustle those out and get em cut up right after the kill.

The one thing I remember the most was, treating myself to a Vanilla Latte instead of a regular coffee on sunday morning from the coffee shop and sitting in a chair by my tractor and enjoying sitting outside, in November, when could you ever do that around here?

Well Jay you must have been able to make the rounds of your customers lawns an extra five or six times in the last 10 weeks haven't you? and I bet it took you a lot less time to dispose of clippings, LOL

Your right about November! First time in awhile we dident freeze during leaf clean-ups. I was down to a tee shirt 3 times in November, never thought it would carry over to December?? Last year we had 3 days above freezing from Dec to March!

Hahahaha! Had to use 4wd every nite to dump grass and
leaves, ford hubs suck, so I ended up putting warn manual
lock hubs on my 2000 f250 , and they work great. No more
vacume problems or hub that won't un lock!

Where in New York are you? In your opinion, would underway on Lake Erie with ice forming on the decks qualify as working outside, cause I've been there? I just perfer rain to freezing snow for working outside in.

I'm near Albany 25 miles NW of it, Im on clay so it's very muddy 6 to 8 inches deep, I'd rather it was froze, much easier for animals and me to walk on!

Not really, you can't do anything here in the mud! Dry is really better here because the clay holds moisture for so long! Lol

It has been so mild this fall, it just don't seem like less than three weeks 'til New Year! Low 60s today, worked in short sleeves outside. Saturday supposed to be only in high 40s. Oh well, we takes what we gets and does the best we can. You can tell Mother Nature is not a politician because she can't be bribed!

Thank You Cowman! Since it has gotten wet here at the House had 1.5ins 2 months ago, Picked up 3ins over the last 3 weeks. Yes we look pretty wet on top. But down deep we are still no where near getting out of this drought. Been drizzly, overcast skys for about a week now.
I know there are some of Guys who farms looks like mud holes, Don't B!tch too much for if the Lord wants to turn the tap OFF on them it can get pretty bad!
Later,
John A.
