Farmall f-12 and A pistons

Can farmall A or B pistons be used in a F-12 block using the F-12 rods and/or can the A/B farmall piston and rods be used on a F-12 crankshaft? I"m not sure about the difference in piston pin heighth and diameters of the F-12 vs. the farmall A/B if there is any.

When I overhauled my F14 I bought pistons and sleeves from what was then Central Tractor and they listed the piston and sleeves for a super A and said they would work in an F12/14. That's what I currently have in my F14 and it has worked fine every since. I don't know if you can take a regular A piston and make it work in the F12 sleeve.

A sleeve & piston set from a C-113 will fit... a C-123 sleeve will not fit in the hole in the block. *HOWEVER*/ NOTE/ DANGER/ CAUTION/ ACHTUNG... some times the sleeve protrusion is too much! (C-113 sleeves). Clean the counterbore thoroughly so the sleeve drops in and check it carefully. You may have to take a light cut on the counterbore.

Yes the A pistions and sleeves will fit. The new aluminum pistons may be a 1/4" bigger in diameter and you'll notice the difference. The rod bearings for an A tractor are different. They have the little tang on the opposite side and they won't work. I shouldn't say this but I ground off the little tang and put the bearings in my rods and then took a punch and indented the bearing where the tangs matched my rods. They lasted for 20+ years. I never had any trouble and pulled my old F14 hard then I sold it. Got tired of cranking the old tractor. I like the electric start on the newer tractors.
