When I fire up the computer The following message appears.

"sqlite3.dll could not be found,re installation may fix the problem"
I can get the internet but IE cannot show the webpage.
I did wipe a couple of downloads off the computer but apart from that nothing else has been done.
Could somebody tell me how to overcome this. Thanks.

How did you post this? From a different machine?

It appears you deleted a DLL that the machine requires. Does the msg come up when you open your browser? Or during the machiine startup itself?

the downloads you wiped out? were they downloaded programs that had been installed? if you just deleted the program and its folder, chances are the .dll file was in the folder...even tho another program needs it you can delete them and cause this type problem.
ALWAYS use the remove program tool in your control panel.
check your recycle bin for the missing file...you may get lucky and find it in there...if its there, right click your mouse and click the option that says replace file or words to that effect.

Bendee, go to sqlite.org for either the file or answers on whatever you deleted having sqlite in its source code. Not knowing your system or configuration I could suggest something that only makes it worse.I also think you could spend hours googling the repair, looking for a copy of your computer that fixed the problem. You know what you deleted, maybe you needed to uninstall rather than delete. If it an incomplete uninstall, try REVO uninstaller pro. Works good for me.Good Luck.

Almost forgot the most important- Scan for virus! Disconnect from internet. Do not update Anti virus or windows until scan done.Could have been a combination of Windows update and what you deleted.I don't like auto updates because if something goes wrong I don't find out soon enough to easily backtrack to a "restore point".

In Internet Explorer go to "Tools", "Internet Options", "Connections", "Lan Settings". Check to see if the proxy server box is checked. It should not be checked unless you are using a cellular modem. The "Automatically Detect Settings" box at the top should be checked.
If that is not the problem go to the link and download WinSock Fix and run it. You might also try starting Windows in the safe mode with networking and see if the web page will load.
One more is go to "Programs", "Accessories"' "System Tools" and open Internet Explorer with (No Add Ons).
I hope this helps.

Might even try to restore the computer to an earlier date. Startallprogramsaccesriessytemtoolssystemrestore.

SQLite is a database engine, probably part of some other application. (For example, an accounting package.) I seriously doubt that it has anything to do with your IE issue. But both problems probably stem from the same cause: inadvertent deletion of program and/or system files. You have just been bitten by Windows' lack of system security.

The good news is that you can still boot your computer, so it may be repairable without a complete restore.

What do you mean by "I can get the internet but IE cannot show the webpage."? Can you perform an nslookup? (At the command prompt, try "nslookup ytmag.com".) If you can't do an nslookup, you're not connected to the internet. If you can do an nslookup, then your problem is probably in IE.

You can try going into Control Panel and try to repair your programs (I think it's "Add Programs" or something like that. I'm not on a Windows machine.) Or you can go back to an earlier version of your system. Or do a full restore if all else fails.

This file is installed by an aftermarket program, not windows, such as firefox, password recovery, a virus program, any program that uses the internet.

Go to a similar machine, do a search for the file while noting it's location, copy it to disc and then transfer it to your machine and to the proper location.

If all else switch to a more secure browser, google chrome is a better browser and free. if you can run ie in safe mode with networking the you can get google chrome. should be able to find it at 100-downloads.com. the dash in the address is important! it is a safe website, or go here to get it: https://www.google.com/chrome/
