4020 engine swap

I was wondering if a guy used a 404 turbo diesel engine from a 7700 combine that was rebuilt correctly would as a replacement in a 4020?

Theirs a few 4010& 20 around me have the 404t &466t in them.The difference would be the oil pan and clearence under the hood with the stock turbo.I would like to find a cheap 4010 gas and put my 7700 404t engine in it and use a M&W turbo manifold to keep every thing under the stock hood.

I have a friend who has a late model engine in his 4020, he used a 4320 exhaust manafold. Also used 4320 side shields. They raise the hood up about a inch. Looks factory, only has about 180 hp. Seems like the tach was the hardest to make work. Vic

Go over to the deere forum and ask TimS. I'm doing a nonturbo version of that same thing this winter.
