From what I have read gene, it will be farmed by the neighboring farmer that paid the $20,000 an acre.

A farm brought over $16,00 an acre not far from this one a while back.

Bob, I haven't seen the land that was sold, but Sioux county is north of Sioux City where the land is more moderately rolling and away from the Missouri river. Average rainfall is a little less there as it's getting close to the Dakota type weather pattern. I enjoy driving through Sioux county because of the neat clean farm building sites and top notch farming practices. Jim

Hear they have dairy manure and increasing regulations to get rid of it. Needed more land for the manure, cost of fertilizer is the driver.

Just think about housing prices 15 or so vs now. For the buyers sake I hope this does not happen.
For the rest of us without the funds to pay these prices I guess we will just have to wait and see. I have given up for the time being.

80 acres near Hull,Iowa with 73 acres tillable..Neighbor with 240 acres and 50 cow dairy bought it for cash...They say that he would have went to $30,000 an acre on it...

We all know that 50 cow dairy operations dont have 1.6 million in the bank..However,the buyers very wealthy MIL had passed away so the money was there..
