OT--Coffee Maker Surprise

I have a BOSCH Tassimo Coffee Maker that cost over $100.00. For those who are not familiar, it makes individual cups from a small packet.
Anyway, it stopped working and I called the company.
The rep asked for identification numbers on the bottom of maker, asked what the problem was and asked how long I had owned it. I stated "two or three years"
After a brief wait, he asked my name and mailing address. I asked "what for"? and he informed me that they take care of customers and will send me a NEW maker and all they require is that I send them the old one and they pay postage!
Just refreshing to have some customer service in today's market.
Ooh--this maker is made in Germany.

I just had this happen with a Harvey vinyl window. Cheap sash vinyl replacement window I should add, not a nice expensive wood one. Our rental house has these in it and when the renter was putting in the AC unit this year she broke the interior of the double pane glass. Called, ordered a new sash, and went to get it the other day. $79.00 for the unit which is less than I expected. The guy handed me the window and said you are all set. No I need to pay. Nope, the serial # you gave us off the old window makes it less than 5 years old so it is fully covered under the warranty. I had my money out to pay and everything. Still some good companies out there.

Your post reminded me of another customer service.
I moved into another home and several of the BLUME cabinet hinges had broken closure springs. I contacted www.usacabinethardware.com to order replacements at a cost of app. $3.50 each.
usacabinet gave me a web address for Blume and said they had a lifetime warranty! I emailed them with the problem, they replied that I need to send ONE defective hinge and the number of hinges I need.
I did this with a request of 15 hinges and they sent me TWENTY!
TWO Reputable venders usacabinethardware and Blume---Needless to say, I will use them for any future needs!!

Not too long after color computer monitors came out, I bought a system from Dell. They sent the wrong model monitor. I called, they agreed and said the right one is on the way. Asked them what they wanted me to do with the old one- they said to give it to a kid who doesn't have a color monitor yet, and probably can't afford one. Which I did.

Had a set of Emeril non-stick skillets. Pretty high dollar when we bought them. The non-stick surface was wearing out on the two most used ones. We had used them for 8 or 9 years.

Called them up, they sent a whole new set of 3.

This is all good and i am glad but not my run of luck latly. Reminds me of an auto part place that my uncle bought stuff at liftime OR 3-5 year warrenty and so on. When you tried to cLAIM it "that muffler, battery, etc company is no longer in buisness" Not much we can do: THAT PLACE IS CLOSED NOW!!!

I have never read a warranty yet that wasn't in the manufacturers interest. Many ways they can void a warranty!
You have to look at the WHOLE PICTURE!!
Although I am [b:3e9233b80a]THRILLED[/b:3e9233b80a] and [b:3e9233b80a]APPRECIATIVE[/b:3e9233b80a] of Tassimo replacement-------They can continue to sell the different cartritages they make for their product! Still------ [b:3e9233b80a]SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE[/b:3e9233b80a]!!

I've had fantaastic customer service from both Ruger (for a pin I lost, free replacement) and CZ Arms on a gun I got used. I both cases I was willing to pay for a replacement part and S&H. Ruger told me it's a 2 buck part.....would cost more to process a payment than to just keep a customer happy. CZ (I actually was talking to a gun smith not someone reading a script) When asked about paying told me, nope covered under warrenty and the warrenty follows the gun not the owner!

There are still companies out there who believe in customer service.

Since Oldtanker brought it up I too have had one company in my life shock me with their Customer service and that was Ruger. Sent my shotgun in for some repair which I knew would be covered by their warranty and then asked them to disconnect the automatic safety while they were at it. That was a charge item which I expected to pay for. Got the gun back working perfectly and they had done the safety work also for no charge! I now have two other Rugers.

I bought a Pfister faucet at a Furrows that was closing. I got it home and it had a hot water valve tht was backward. I called them and they sent me a new one for zip. Can't beat that.

Our shower faucet was leaking, couldn't find a cartridge for it here locally, the local plumber said he would order one for $75.00. I noticed some company made a fitzit part for my faucet that should be about $30.00. Thought I'd try and see if I could get it in Green Bay (that's the "big" city where I live) Menard's didn't have it went to Home Depot, they didn't have it, the clerk tells me to talk to the plumber at the store and hands me off to him he'll 'cause I have to order it. The plumber says "wait a minute" pulls out a water heater and ducks behind the display, comes out and hands me a Delta cartridge...no charge it's got a lifetime warranty! From a Big Box store!!!

I have had a Columbia winter coat for about 25 years. Last 10 have wore it for every day use here on the farm. It is wore through on the sleeves. About 2 years ago the zipper separated. I remember when I bought it, it was guaranteed for a while. I had nothing to lose so I called the company. I do not have any receipts or nothing. Todl them it is at least 25 years old. They paid shipping both ways to have it sent in. Three weeks later I got it back. New zipper and a couple of tears all fixed up. Very impressed.

I have an old el-cheapo Phoenix 22 semi auto pistol that the slide cracked on one side. I called their place in Calif. and a real live lady answered. I asked if the part was available and could she sell me one. She said "No, but if you send the part and the serial number I'll send you a replacement." I told her the gun was over twenty years old. She said it didn't matter. A week later I had the new part. I called her and thanked her and her company profusely. TDF

Had that happen with one of those round pools with the inflatable ring on top. The ring on top leaked air could not find the leak, so my wife called the pool company told them the problem, They sent a new bigger pool for nothing. Sure suprized me.Jim

You can even get good customer service on Ebay.

My HPS (high pressure sodium) light went bad.
Ordered one on Ebay, liked the way it looked, so
ordered another to put where it will light up the
carport.

Before the second one arrived I had mounted the
first one. It would cycle on and off about 45
seconds on 30 seconds off.

I had left positive feedback for the first one
before I mounted it. I let the seller know about
the problem, I did offer to send back the bad one
at my expense, but he said, NO he would send out a
replacement.

He actually sent two replacement lights, since I
did order two.

Only had one bad one, but he stated cheaper for
him to just make sure all works OK. DOUG

Truely a Professional--careing seller --wish you could give their identity.

Went through the same thing several years ago. In my case they first sent one the same size, and when it wouldn't stay inflated they sent me one the next size larger. That's what I call true customer service.
