Zenith fuel pipe fitting

Hello,

I have trouble finding the correct pipe nut to connect the fuel pipe to a Zenith 24T2 carb.
I do not have every thread gauge there is, and feel I do not get a perfect match. But, the closest I have come is 12mm x 1.25. It can be an inch thread too. And, the threads can perhaps be stretched too.
The thread in the carb is female, so the nut looks like any other brake pipe nut, just that it is for the carb, and the pipe is 1/4".

So, now I wonder if anyone in here know what the thread is ? Maybe Zenith used the same thread on all their carbs.

Best regards,

Bill

Maybe the make and model of the tractor would help. Most every Zenith I've seen used 1/8 inch pipe for the inlet....

Look down the hole. Does it have a flat bottom with a conical seat? That's inverted flare. The hole slightly smaller than the threads with rounded corners? That's compression sleeve. A bored hole where the threads diminish to nothing? that's national taper thread (NPD). A standard 1/4" tube nut should be 7/16"-20. Would be helpful if we knew the vehicle the carb was off of, to tell if we should even be considering metric dimensions.

It is on a Ferguson TEA 20 from 1948 in this case.
On the other end, under the fuel tank, the thread is A2-4, brake pipe fitting. In other words, a 7/16" x 24 nut with a 1/4 inch hole.

But, the carb. end is different. Not the same diameter, 11.8, and my thread gauge has only 16, 18, 20, 24, and 27, and of course some others too... but not 19 and not 21... the 20 gauge is closest on this one. Also metric 1.25 is very very close. And 11.8 mm is close to 12 mm.

Hello Hal, I am from Norway. If you mention inches here, the clerks becomes crosseyed and start peeing in their pants. And suggest to buy a new cellphone, or an Ipad, or something electronic that has no use for an old tractor. Or a new tire, 255/45x20 with chrome magnesium rims. And a new sound system, probably with surround and a subwoofer, and some cans of pink spray paint.

So, I have to order from the US, and it is a bit tricky when not being sure.

Can you post closeup pictures. Do a search for
inches to metric and you can convert from inches
using decimal fractions to metric. Hal ex: .250"=6.35mm
