Looking for a farm to hunt in southern illinois

Hopefully someone can help me locate a farm to hunt in southern illinois. I live in northern michigan and been trying to manage the deer to get larger racks over the past ten years. Its made a difference but just cant grow em like the corn belt states. I've only hunted on my family farm here my whole life and watch too many hunting shows on tv and it REALLY makes me want to try hunting down there. I'll pay for the hunting privige and I'm really looking for large whitetails, let the young ones go and look for the 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 mature bucks. I really want a wall mount before I leave for the army in Jan. 2013, only wall mout I have is my 1st buck, a 7 1/2 year old spike. I've shot lots of little 8's here and a decent 9 for northern MI but he was still only a 110" buck. Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
Ryan in northern michigan

Try the Quincy area in Adams county for large racks. Starting now is a good time for next year. Second season opens tomorrow for slugs. May have to get a hunting broker. Will need a lot of set up time unless you have a guide for best results. Check on the IL regs for out of state hunting and application via the computer. The Southern tip in the national forest is full of city types from Chicago area. Free hunt on public lands. Let the net know how it worked next Nov?

Adams or Pike county IL, "West Central IL" There are at least four deer lodges around Pittsfeild IL. I think if you Google Pittsfeild you will find what you want.

If you plan to hunt the 'prime' deer ground in IL, you are going to pay big $$$ to do so. What land isn't leased out is already being kept close by the owner's family and friends who hunt.

As already mentioned, you need to specify what area of 'southern IL' you are wanting to hunt. IL is very large, and it does vary in terms of hunting areas where the really good hunting is. Southern IL is an interesting area, as people from the windy city think 'southern' is anywhere south of I80, which includes most of the central part of the state. For us that live in the central part of the state, 'southern' to us is much farther south.

West Central IL is well known for some of the best hunting ground.
