Well, I'm back;
It seams that some of the critics and forum hogs have left. It's been a tough summer, with the flooding and health issues. The pics. of our ice storm which hit Tues. night and lasted until Turkey Day, was very localized, but we got hit hard. By Thursday afternoon we made it to the mid 40s and have made it to 61F this week. Wierd weather to say the least.Just som pics Thusday through Sun. in Central NY. Hope you all had a great Turkey Day, and hope you all have a super Christmas. Hope to be back here before then, with more. Taking each day as it comes. Loren, NY.

Simple answer;
The uncles who own the family farm have both turned 80yrs. They have a 4 row planter and at their age it's foolish to upgrade, when they can get the crop harvested in our weather window. Also bigger heads cause real problems on our narrow roads if we try to transport without detaching the header.

loren, nice pictures as usual. glad you are back on here. it was good seeing you at roseboom. we missed your ice storm, and are enjoying the mild weather right now.

Really enjoyed the photos of your family"s farm.

The photo of the ice on the trees is stunning.

Thanks for sharing them with us.

BRRRR! Nice pics, but sure looks cold.

James and I spent the holidays eating good food, had a nice fire in the fireplace and watched 4 days of football.

Good to hear from you again.

Is the corn head offset to the left, so the corn isn't being wallowed down by the left combine tire? Guess I'd never thought about it, because I've never seen a head narrower than the machine.
