Waukeshaw Engine History

Yes. Don't recollect the name of the company that owns them. Some think it's TRW,but if memory serves me right,TRW is owned by the same parent company. I was thinking the company that owns both and one more besides is owned by a guy with 3 sons. One runs TRW,one runs Waukesha and the other the third company if I remember the story right.

Yes, they are still in buisness. Waukesha merged with Dresser a few years back & are both currently owned by GE. Parts can be a pain in the donkey to find. My closest Waukesha dealer is in Colorado, which really burns my britches! The second closest dealer is in Oklahoma. Those are the only Waukesha certified dealers in the US. The engine plant is 45 minutes from my house...

There IS a Waukesha engine collectors club. I haven't contacted them yet. After calling ALL over this darned country of ours, to find a stupid gasket set, I lost interest.

P.S. My apologies for being short.

There was a program on either the History channel or Discovery 2 or 3 years ago on the Waukesha Engine company.
They only make Natural Gas Engines now for generators. Some of them are quite large for hospitals and office buildings as emergency generators. At that time I believe they said they had 600 employees and were owned by Dresser, the same company that had owned the construction equipment business.

Olsons gaskets in Port Orchard, WA, should be able to provide your gaskets(olsonsgaskets.com).
Another is gasketstogo.com, a sponsor on the smokstak site/forum.
Prices I don't know about. Goof luck.

We sold Sandy Olson most of the waukesha gaskets

that we had. Many were for the wak and the wakd.

He stopped in to pick them up when he was here

in the east to go to the hersey pa car show.

Waukesha Engine is alive and well. Started in 1906. Became a part of Dresser Industries in the 70"s and merged with Halliburton in the 90"s. Halliburton divested them and some other old divisions of Dresser at which time it became part of Dresser Inc. In 2011, GE bought Dresser in order to obtain Waukesha Engine. It is now called GE Power Waukesha gas engines. The Waukesha Engine Historical Society has a website. You can "tour" our museum.
