ive got a narrow front end 4020 gas with 95 horsepower in it,im wanting to take the gas motor out put a diseal in it and hav 300 horsepower when im done with it what diseal motors will bolt right into it nicely

A JD 466 cid will bolt but will require a few mods. I think the 4020 trans/diff. will be short lived with a 300HP engine. Traction will also be a problem.

Put a 466 in it then start looking for transmission parts if you do anything besides drive it around. I don't see it lasting long either with that in there. You could play with a 404 with a turbo and have a good running and fun toy in a 4020. Just my opinion.
Jimmy, STOP! Don't Screw up a perfectly good and valued 4020! by going at something the wrong way.
The 4020 rearend was not designed to handle that kind of HP!! maybe 130/140 no where near 300
Go find a good old 5020/6030 or a 4520/4620, Do a 466 swap or send it Kinze and have a 318 Detroit DSL swap put in it!
You will still have a 300 HP or close to it in a row crop platform!!! Your 4020 it highly prised today by Northern Farmers who need a winter Chore Tractor to feed cattle or grind feed!

don't hack up that deere,they are valueable because they are versatile .. , if you want to toy with hot iron , find a channel frame type from the rainbow of colors

Jimmy, OK,OK,OK, I get it that you want to go tractor pulling now that you are older. Being that this 4020 is a family tractor then stay in the parameters of the tractor in the 100 hp Super Farm Stock class. But I still maintain that family tractor is worth more... there on the farm where it can still hold its own, Not set it on a path of total destruction. Yes you can do a whole lot of modifying to what ever you want. BUT There is seldom a week goes buy that somebody post a "How do I find" My /Dads tractor sold in 1978 as some little town is some state somewhere at an Estate Auction. You still have your Dads tractor Very much in an s unmolested state!
Seriously... Go find a 46/4520 to build off of!!! If not...You will be sorry later....Sometime!
