OT Kenmore Model 800 Washer

Anyone know how to remove or otherwise access the control panel on a Kenmore Model 800 washer (29822800) without damaging anything?

The *!%$#* two year old thing has failed one year out of warranty. I suspect the timer but cannot determine how to access it.

you tube has videos on how to repair almost anything. I use it alot.

I think the two plastic end caps come off exposing phillips head screws, one on each side, that allows the panel to flip up. What is it doing? Most times it is a door switch. Will fill and drain but never agitate. It is a normally open switch that the door closes the contacts of. Jumper out if no kids involved. Removing body of washer requires removing door switch harness and prying up the two clips that are exposed at this point. Pretty easy stuff.
