Hi Guys. Got a question for you from my husband. On a Farmall Regular PTO Extension system, does the pto extension shaft just run through that bearing/collar inside the pto shield... or should there be some kind of bushing on the shaft were it goes through there? Attached a pic of the bearing/collar part that I'm referring to.
THANKS!

No, there is no bushing on the PTO shaft. The bearing rollers ride directly on the PTO shaft. I put a PTO extension on my Regular, several of the bearing rollers were damaged from rust as well as the area of the shaft the bearing rides on. I turned the shaft end for end so that the bearing now rides on a smooth undamaged section of the shaft. I spent $15 and bought some 1/2" precision ground hardened shaft and made new rollers for the bearing as I figured a new bearing would be hard to find and very expensive!

Thanks Nebraska Kirk. Will tell The Boss what you did. We're restoring a '31 Regular, and want her to have as many bells & whistles as possible. Will be a long-term project due to the ol' time & money factors.
