inverting a tractor tire

Have any of you inverted a tractor tire to use as a feeder? I bought 2 of them yesterday for $25 bucks each. The man was in his 70s and said he has done thousands of them. I asked him how he did it but of course he wouldnt tell his secerets! He did tell me to only use bias ply because radials are to thick and they colapse after time. So It got me thinking if I could figure out how to do it maybe I could make a little extra cash. We all could use that right!! Thanks for your help
 
They make a machine that you can buy. I have a friend at a tire dealer that has one and I get tires for him, last time I talked to him he needed 100 tires but it seems I can't find any for him anymore.

Hydraulics, something to grab the edge and pull it
though itself after you cut one bead off. I hired a
bunch turned several years ago. Cost me $10 or 12 ea
if I remember right. They brought the machine right
out to the farm.

I tried by hand one time after drinking half of a case of one liter german dark beers (dopplebach) and failed miserably. I thought that I was King Kong Bundy, but that tractor tire not only proved me wrong, but whipped my rear end handedly. When I got out of the hospital, I gave up drinking and never tried again.

Like the others said, use a machine. Its far more effective, far less expensive in the long run, and far less painful the day and years after. Not to mention that your friends, family, neighbors, and doctor won't nickname you "Stupid", like mine did me.

We did several way back when......30 or 40 years ago. Have forgotten the details, but we bolted the inside to the shop floor with short chains and used additional short chains on the outside.......hooked to a front end loader.
