Bought mine used (diesel, multipower) about 20yr ago and have worked the heck out of it. Had to replace a seal in the power steering and have split it once to replace the aux hyd pump. No idea how many hours it has on it, probably well over 5k. They were made back in the day when everything was still made to last through many overhauls and rebuilds. Maybe the folks on the Massey forum have more to add. I got more than my money's worth out of this one and still use it a lot for baling hay and loader work. HTH

Just a passing thought. In 1972 my Dad paid 3500.00 for a gas 180 MF, biggest piece of junk we ever had, something was always falling of of it, the hitch, hyd went out three times. We only used it two years and sold it at the sale. I talked to the guy who still owns it, and he replaced the camshaft and has been running it ever since. You never know!!

I have one my wife acquired from her dad's estate. 4500 hours if I remember right. My biggest complaint is the gearshifting can be difficult. Clutch is stiff. Runs good, starts easily, but has issues with charging/battery system. Turns very short for a non-tricycle tractor.

Just talked to an old customer of mine back in the wrench twisting days. This guy could break an anvil with a glsss hammer, and he has 3 of them. They'll take a beating like a trailer house wife!

Never been a M-F fan, but those old 180's have my grudging respect. Start good, easy on fuel, powerful hydraulics. Multi power will go out, but that'll happen on all of them, sooner or later. That little 236 Perkins will pull out of all proportion to its size!
