proud to say i served

Thank you.
Have a friend that sometimes will give a few hints of being a medic. Not a good job !

He did say on one outing with over 100 men. They came under fire and after about 5 min of battle he didn't remember anything till he woke up on a Helicopter with 5 other seriously wounded of that unit He thought he would loose his arm.. still has metal in his side .. the rest were KIA

i say if you dont like it here in the US "leave". " when you look into a pond do you see yourself or the sky behind you" .

I'm sorry I dont understand the first part of that reply .. dumb it down if it was directed to me .

I just said in another post basically we fought for freedom and dependance of what other Countries have.. now those same Countries own us. the Deaths of all the men have been in vain since the 60's

I joined the Navy in 64, got out in 68. I have no regerts what so ever, and would do it again. Back then they had something called the draft, that was a big fear of most young kids out of high school, unless your parents knew someone important, or you went to Canada, you most likely were drafted into the army. I liked three warm meals,(most of the time) and a bed. I didn't wait to be drafted do I joined the Navy. Stan

I Agree...the Politicians have SOLD every last one of us out...

Let's go to Washington and Pop some Caps...

Navy 1974 to 1980. If asked to go in now days I would say no but then things are a whole lot different then it was when I was in. Have a friend who did 21 years in the Air Force and wag going to stay till he got to 30 but he got out due to things getting bad due to politics.

never got the chance, but if it wasn't for all of you who did,,,i could never enjoy my old iron...

As most of you know, I recently retired from the US Coast Guard. I'm proud of my service, though, if someone thinks I rode the government's gravy train. I'm ok with them. I know that many, even here, have faced far more danger than I have, Though I was a duty Boat crewmen at two stations. Sometimes very patriotic Americans say, "You're a hero", but I let them know that for the most part, I just fixed the equipment for the heros.

At 11:11AM on 11/11/11,our high school had a moment of silence honoring Veterans Day. I was disappointed that we did not have more of an observance. I told my three senior classes yesterday and the three today to always remember those who served, and to pass on to their children the tradition of honoring those who served our country. I thought the kids seemed very receptive.

101 Airborne Ranger Active 67-77, 77-97 Army reserve. July 68-March 73 Nam.

Made Sergeant First class three times. Long story short. Fought hard and hated officers with big headed ideas. Retired from the reserves as a First Sergeant.

I would not trade the experience for anything. I have two sons that served and two grand sons serving right now. Have two more grand daughters that are Juniors that are talking about joining.

LOL marc yea I guess I am.....

When I went to Armor school in 74 the commo Sgt told us that a tank that would move and shoot but could not communicate was worthless as it couldn't follow orders........the Sgt that taught us maintanance told us that a tank that could shoot and communicate but not move was a pillbox......the Sgt who taught us gunnery told us that a tank that could move and communicate but not shoot was a 70 ton portable radio!
