Hey guys!! Well, over the weekend I was lucky
enough to go see one of my friends harvesting a
small plot of corn with some old equipment, a
Farmall M, and a New Idea picker. It was a really
fun day, plus all the profits from this corn (they
sell it to yuppies who feed squirrels and birds
and the like with it) go to putting on the local
tractor show where I shoot a lot of video every
year. Its a really nice event. Anyway, I shot a
video of it and just wanted to share it with yall,
hope you guys enjoy :)

I remember your first love (Farmall H) then came lawnmowers and Prussian Orange tractors. Good to see you being friendly with a Farmall. Thanks, Jim

Great video, thanks for sharing. Sure looked like a good time. I'm more of an Oliver guy but Farmall would be my second choice, that M did a great job.

Nice vidio Lance, here in the UK we only started growing maze (corn) in the 1980s so we never had the old equiment. We had the American tractors from the 1910s and alco some implements. Nice to see the Farmall M on the picker, I have a M, H, BN and a W6 plus the UK built B250 and B414. MJ

That's one machine I'd not want to wear any loose clothing around, nice video showing one of these, neighbor used to have a 2 row N.I., couple of cribs, he also had a 2 row chopper, it sure seemed the acreage in fields around here,(unlike the midwest/grain belt) took forever to harvest, those guys were always working til late at night.

Ah, the memories. My Dad used a New Idea picker just like that one, only a little earlier model. My brothers and I were responsible for keeping the wagons emptied and ferried between the crib and the field. My favorite job on the farm was picking corn in the fall. Thanks, Lanse.
Good Luck and God Bless

Lanse. You're smart kid. Do some research on hearing loss due to loud noise exposure. No reason to end up with hearing aids in both ears. And never hearing most of the sounds of nature, like geese honking, elk bugling, pheasants cackling, and all the others.
GET SOME HEARING PROTECTION WHEN AROUND MACHINERY.
