Probably from the twenties, nickle plated, Earlier were more barrel shaped. Later were painted body color. Pick it up, get it back into circulation, someone is looking for that to finish their project. My 2 cents worth.

If you dig in that spot, you are likely to find more. Get a layer down, and the water may not have impacted the stuff too much.

Larry is a two lite from a 30-31 frod model A is made from stainless steel. ive got some in my barn. and 2 on my 30 ford coupe. Bob

I would do what mr pleasant said and come back with a shovel. I'm in the antique bottle club and metal on the surface means bottles down below. If you start finding pontiled bottles you can make some money.I would take that lamp shell home but I have a metal garden with rusted old stuff. If a model A lamp is on top of the pile you may find much earlier things below.

My favorite pastime, old farmers dumps, very common around here, started when I was a kid, its always a lot of fun to see what turns up, myself and a friend when were young would spend an entire saturday, finding quite a few bottles and antiques. In more recent times I found a hood ornament, that could be re-chromed, was just laying on the surface at a friends place, over the edge of an embankment, nice shape considering, found a brass bell near my place and the last time I dug around at our other place I found a railroad lantern lense, clear, but no staining or anything, looked on ebay, and there were several listed. About as enjoyable as seat time on ones tractor.

I think Bob has named it correctly. At our home place there were severl old cars, and parts laying around thanks to my older brother. I can still remember seeing two lights just like that one on part of a model A front end on the way to the family dump. When Dad moved down the road most of that stuff was just left. Back then it was just a lot of old junk. Stan
