Farmall oil system full flow or bypass filter

Have 47 cub and 41 A. Both did this twice in cold weather. Seems like oil was forced out of filter can, sometimes around bolt and sometimes other part. Does this mean oil is too heavy or relief valve is stuck or frozen? Has it happened to someone besides me. I took filter out and expected bad gasket, could find nothing wrong and sorta fixed itself. Recommendations or explanation would be wonderful. Thanks. Dave

It's a full flow system and you have sealing issues.

They have a rubber O ring that gets so compressed you would think it was part of the casting. Try taking an ice pick or dental pick and be sure the old O ring isn't still down in there.
