Does anyone have a full list of past conversion parts needed to convert a 6v pos ground allis wc to a 12 neg ground? And does the 6v starter work with the 12v system?

12 volt battery of course
GM one wire alternator
Mounting hardware
Some wire and connectors
Starter will be fine.

I would stay away from the Delco 1 wire set up in the long run it cost you 3 times more and works only some times. Parts needed are
#1 12 volt battery
#2 an alternator from say a 1980 Chev 1/2 ton pick up no power any thing no AC..
#3 either a diode or a true 12 volt coil.
#4 wire to wire it up the correct way.#5 wire correct wiring diagram which I can explain or if you look in the archives Bob post a good picture of it.
#6 working out the mount which on that tractor is pretty easy with what is there.
BTDT many many many times

Diode? That doesn't affect the coil circuit. The diode prevents back feeding from the alternator. Which can make the engine run after the ignition switch is turned off.

Yes, the original starter works on 12v as long as you remember it won't tolerate as much crank time as a 12v. My CA has been 12v for 15 years. I've never touched the starter in all that time.

Ya the diode and the coil should have been 2 different # things should have said ballast resister in the coil part not the diode part.
But hey you double posted so we both had are little oops
