STEERING DIFFICUL 8N

Tells us about the tractor. Have a loader on it?
Have you greased the spindles and checked the fluid in the steering box?
Which steering box? Ford had two of them on the 8Ns and the later one was better.
Lastly, are you used to power steering in other tractors or vehicles you own and want that ease of steering?
Give us more to go on here and we'll advise you how to fix it or suggest a newer model that has PS.

UltraDog is correct, they are hard to steer and have a need for power steering. The answer (if you want the solution of my choice) is to buy a Kit from Jackson Power Steering co. Jim

jack up the front end to take the weight of the tires and see how hard it turns could be your thrust bearing are shot. and when you grease it you should lift the front tires off the ground so the grease can come out the bottom and not all out the top of the spindle. grease is your tractors friend

Like the other post said jack it up and make sure the grease comes out the bottom as well as the top lots of those have the same problem because the grease doesent get to the bottom of the spindles.
