corn into bins??????

what moisture could I put out of feild corn into a bin (1800and 3800 bushel) for storageonly through winter. No air in these bins. Havent started corn but alot of corn in the area planted later than mine is coming out already at 14-15%.

I have dried corn in a stirring bin for 23 years. I have stored dried corn in a 30' eight ring bin (13500 bu) for 13 years. The storage bin has an aeration floor, but no fan, transition, nor vents. I start taking corn out of the storage bin by spring, 18 tons per week, typically emptying it in July. It usually comes out 14-15%. I have never had a bit of spoilage. The corn is slow dried, cooled, and thoroughly stirred going in.
Some corn coming off my drying bin floor late this summer tested over 15.5%. I have successfully kept corn into the summer at 17%
I just started in with a "TopDry" bin system. We did a few batches, trying to get the thing set, thinking we had the corn about 14%, after a day or so of cooling. After filling it, and having aerated it for several days(rainy weather) we emptied it for the first time Thur. I constantly checked the moisture going into storage. I got a 10%, 11%, a couple 14%'s, and mostly 12-12.5%. That was an expensive 7000 plus bushels of corn!
Many around here with continuous flow dryers over dry their corn to 13 or so, because they have had problems.
All that to say- it depends on what your corn moisture REALLY is. And temp. And humidity. And will the corn be in contact with concrete? etc. etc.
Hopefully with yours naturally dried you won't face these challenges.

Oh no, no Allen. That will never stay in condition at that moisture with out air. I have a 18 ft. dia. bin that had no air and I always brought some spoiled corn out of that bin even if I dried it down to 12%. Three years ago I just mated a fan to a hole cut in the side wall of the bin. No tube or nothing. I have since put 15% in that bin and nary a one spoiled kernel since. You need to get some air into it somehow or you WILL bring some spoiled corn out. Might not be much but there will be some.
