Trip in Farm country

This may be OT but here goes. The first 2 weeks of Sept. we spent in Germany and stayed in a farming village of about a 800 people.
These guys have to have a big set of 8888 to run their tractors on the mountain slopes like I saw them doing. Every morning the 1 store in town had the parking lot full of tractors and they were getting coffee and baked goods from the store.
We were 2 KM from Baumholder and the fields were quite big and they were plowing with the plows that flip over. Quite interesting to watch.
We saw several small herds of dairy cattle and the one field had calfs with the cows and each cow had a cowbell on them. It was real nice to hear the bells in the morning. I saw several old tractors that were small and about the size of a cub. These were all fixed up real nice but did not see a name on them.
The first Euros I spent was to pay a speeding ticket in a traffic trap. Maybe Dave2 can tell me for sure but there were about 20 or so cops and they had 10 or 12 cars stopped and even had a tractor in the line. Dave2 do they give the tractors a ticket for speeding?
Seen old friends again and if I would have been there another couple of weeks I tink I could have spoke as much German as I use to.
We had a very good time and the people were very friendly to us. The last day we were there the people in town all stopped by and brought wine and beer to our house. Hated to leave but was glad to be back home.

Glad to hear you had a nice trip. You wouldn't think that the tractor was put out there to hold up traffic do you? just to make the other drivers mad so they would "kick it" when they passed him and exceed the speed limit? Nah, they wouldn't do anything like that. LOL
