i have a ford 650 that i converted to 12 volt years ago.
the engine quit while mowing last week.i could find no fire to ignition, coil or starter switch that is on the transmission plate.
i replaced the starter solenoid and still no fire.
i recharged the battery and now have fire to the coil and ignition but not to the start switch.
i can jump the tractor off and it runs fine but i can not start tractor from the start switch.
any suggestions?
thanks

You already most likely "found" your problem...just may not realize just yet.

Start at the battery an clean/shine/tighten each and every electrical connection that has anything to do with the starting/running of your tractor. It may be in the starter button on top of the trans. case. If after everything else is clean/bright/tight and you continue to get "nothing happening", VERY CAREFULLY...while sitting in the seat...trans. in neutral, etc...ground the top of the elect. connection screw on the starter button to the side of the starter switch...it should start/spin over. What that does is bypass the starter button and confirms that starter button is your problem.

Keep your eyes peeled here...SOUNDGUY and some others may chime in with their answers.

Good luck...keep us informed with your progress.
