check valve on a tractor--where to install

Revisit of a question--Have A Hough 4x4 wheel loader with the Cummins straight 6 engine. After sitting for a few days the fuel will leak back and make starting difficult on the first start up. There isn't a hand pump that I can see.
I want to install a checkvalve ,but don't know where to install. There are lines to and from the fuel filter--line up to the fuel rail-line from tank etc.
When I asked earlier I was told that the checkvalve needs to be at least as big in dia. as the line. I didn't ask where to install before.
Thanks for any help.

A few thoughts BESIDES the possible need for a suction line check valve...

Are there ANY areas of the fuel system plumbing that collect dust over a tiny fuel leak that will let air in after shutdown??

Is the fuel returning to a level BELOW the level of the fuel in the tank?

Typically, (PT fuel system) Cummins uses a brass elbow with a check valve at the fuel RETURN port on top of the pump. Is that valve present and intact?

This is an older Hough H60D--Maybe 70's.
In the cab there is a push plunger---brass-- that one time was hooked up to the fuel system and I think it was used for cold weather starts to have fuel where it was needed. This system has long been froze up and disabled . I will check to see if there is a check valve above the pump. Didn't notice any fuel leaks and the fuel tank is under the motor and I have the tank full of fuel. The fuel filter is the big cannister type with a throw away filter.
