'Member a few weeks ago, that I had bought an old '88 Chevy pickup on the cheap, but that it had a cooked tranny?

Think I just completed the fastest tranny repair ever! Amazing what three quarts of fluid will do for a non-mover. :>)

Must have a leak somewhere, but we've got 4 solid gears, solid converter and reverse is rock hard. Darned TV adjustment is even right!

Well, okay then......... guesss it's plumb fine with me! :>)

Old heifer did take a new fuel filter and a new fuel pump tho............

Derned old thing needs an idler arm; can tell by the way it drives. Running boards are now gone.

Heck! Might even wash the old honker. :>)

yep the idle arm is very common, moog has a heavyduty version $$ though, depening on what you want out of it a $19. one might due,

is it got the wobbly tilt steering too?

if it is leaking a bunch of engine oil check the tube running from the front of the TBI to the PVC valve. it gets carboned up making backpressure in the crankcase and pushing out oil. motormite, (HELP!) makes a new tube, cheap

i was gona say get rid of the mudflaps, but i see you have horses, so they probably say "horse country"

Not a bad looking piece of plunder. I am not that familiar with GM products, but I would have thought that it was newer than that. But be careful if you decide to wash it, someone asked me one time why I didn't wash my truck. I said that the mud and dirt was probably the only thing holding it together.
