Old wagon, new deck

Used old oak floor joists from an old house that was torn down. Thinking about some kind of railing for it now, it is mostly a hay ride wagon for the kids.

any suggestions for rails or side boards? Not sure if they are needed or not.

1.25OD tubing with 4 supports per side, and 3 across front and rear. Weld on fittings and Ts make it easy. flange sockets for attachment and removal.
Regular pipe flanges with the threads turned out on a lathe to fit the OD. and a hole to fit the supports into on the deck. Jim
